About Literary Fire (Katy)

Katy Hojnacki is a clever, quirky, and colorful member of the Metro Detroit creative writing community. She loves stories that venture outside of reality, like fantasy, scifi, and magical realism.

Located in Metro Detroit, Katy is a writer, artist, and editor. She contributed short stories and art to publications including Sterling Script: A Local Author Collection and Ghostlight, an anthology from the Great Lakes Association of Horror Writers. She illustrated I Can See With My Eyes Shut Tight, a children’s book about using the senses to use your imagination.

Katy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Oakland University with a double major in English and Studio Art: Painting. She worked in the Oakland University Writing Center as a Writing Consultant, where she discussed assignments with students, provided grammar knowledge, and fixed formatting.

As an editor and cover designer for 8 editions of Sterling Script: A Local Author Collection, Katy shares her skills to build up the creative writing community. She involves herself in local author events, creative writers workshops, and critique groups.
